3rd Week of Advent

+JMJ+

Rejoice!

It's the third week of advent, soon it will be Christmas.
Veni, Veni Emmanuel!

But are we well prepared for the coming of the Christ Child?
Are we prepared for the second coming?
If Jesus walked in your door now, would you be ready?

My Jesus I love Thee, My Jesus Help Me, My Jesus I trust in Thee

Second Week of Advent

+JMJ+
It's the Second week of Advent

Only two weeks left to finish preparing for Christmas.
Look back on your Advent so far. Do you feel like you have succeeded in your goals for this season of preparation? I know I didn't. But better start late, then never.

My Jesus I love Thee, My Jesus Help Me, My Jesus I trust in Thee.

O Come, O Come Emmanuel

First week of Advent

+JMJ+

Today is the First Sunday of Advent.

It is time to prepare onself for Christmas.
No I don't mean it's time to rush into Christmas shopping
and put up decorations, although you probably will need to
think about things too.
What I mean, is that it is time to start preparing yourself
for Jesus' birthday.
For the coming of Jesus.

Veni Veni Emmanuel.

It's also the third day of saying the St. Andrew Novena
If you are unfamiliar with it, you say it fifteen times each day until Christmas, starting on St. Andrew's feast day.

God Bless You All
in this Beautiful Season of Advent

Thanksgiving 2018

+JMJ+

I figured Thanksgiving deserved a separate post.

I'm thankful for my wonderful parents
living in the country
being part of a big family
jobs I love
having been homeschooled
being part of an amazing Diocese. (Please spare a prayer for the soul of our Bishop and for his successor)
The Latin Mass!!

We had our family gathering the Sunday before at our aunt and uncle's house.

Cousin J is so adorable.

The girls ate in the basement.

At this point someone stole my phone and took a bunch pictures

Looking for games.

I took the pictures from this one and on down.

The photobomber

We grew our own turkeys this year. This picture doesn't do justice to the size. The thing was 30+ pounds.

Thanksgiving day our our house

This one is a bit better.

After the turkey went into the oven, we processed deer.

This year we decided to set up with china dishes.

Doesn't it look nice?

The little kids wanted their own table.

No, they did not break their wine glasses or have wine in them. Most of us put eggnog in them. Some put just plain milk in though.

This is my seat. I only used one fork. I know, horrors!

My view of food!

I made this jello.

I made this too. It's cranberry orange jello salad. Or is it raspberry?

My cranberry hot drink in a teacup.

"Pinkies up!"
This puts me in mind of Hetty King teaching Gus Pike how to be genteel.

"I shall take no more tea."
Of course us girls were thinking about the American Girl, Felicity.

Happy Thanksgiving!

October to November happenings

+JMJ+

Well, I did it again. I procrastinated instead of posting.

Back in October my Tae Kwon Do school hosted a trunk or treat in the school parking lot. My family does not celebrate holloween, but we did decorate the trunk and dress up for this occasion. Can you guess what we went as?

Of course we decorated the car as the shire. :D

I believe Kili and Merry were the only ones to go as any certain character. Kili was Frodo.

My mom bought him a costume. The rest of us, except for Merry, went as random Hobbits.

I really wanted the sign, so Rosie made one. :D

Hmmm... Pippin looks more like Dick Loudon from "Newhart" then a Hobbit.

Can you guess who Merry was?

My mom.

These people were Jurassic World.

These people were little green army guys. :D

We had just watched the Greatest Showman two nights before going for the first time so it was kind of funny to see the Tae Kwon Do instructor and his family dressed up as that.

Little Tom Thumb was so cute.

They had some friends in their group too. As you can see, they had the giant.

Kili trying out the plank for Captian Hook's ship.

"Frodo Baggans, if you do not open this door immediately I will blow it clean down your hole and out the other side!"

Gandalf walking the plank.

When it got a lot darker and colder I decided to go home, since I had brought my own car. But on the way out, we noticed a crowd of trunk or treaters gathering in one spot. Naturally we took a look.

It was dancing stick people! :D

One day I came home from work and found two Southern Belles near my parking spot.

Hmmm... I should just have the Grouchy Photographer take my picture.
Take a look here, they are really good.

Random picture of Eleanor.

This one's better then the last one, but my hairs a mess.

Don't like the smile.

Making a weird face.

The choir director from my Church was in the musical "Newsies." A couple of us went to see it.

Rosie looks rather villainous in the Newsies Banner.

It was a long wait in line so I snapped pictures.

They are showing these movies in the theater. My mom wants to see "Ben-Hur," I want to see "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

Isn't the theater elegant?

This was the view behind me.

On the First Day of Hunting Season...
My dad got this deer before I even woke up. :D

On the second day of hunting season...
then Frodo and Sam got deer as well.

On the third day of hunting season....
do you think five deer is enough?

Thanksgiving day, we all yelled that it was enough!

To bad I didn't get a better picture, but we spent several hours thanksgiving morning grinding venison into sausage. I was a bagger.

That's all for now
